When will Kareem Hunt be back, return to the Browns?
Update: Hunt is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Ravens but all indications are that he will play Sunday night. The RB was activated off of injured reserve on Saturday.
Hunt was eligible to return from IR two weeks ago but he did not suit up against the Patriots and did not play against the Lions. Hunt does intend to play this week against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
"We'll see how practice goes [this week], and I'll make sure I'm feeling great and be able to go out there and give it my all," Hunt said, according to Cleveland.com.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Oct. 18 that Hunt would be out 4-6 weeks. The Nov. 28 Ravens game would be five weeks since injury. Here is a look at other potential return time frames for Hunt by date.
- Week 12: Sunday, Nov. 28 at Ravens
- Week 14: Sunday, Dec. 12 vs. Ravens
- Week 15: Sunday, Dec. 19 vs. Raiders
Seven weeks would set Hunt up for a return against the Ravens in Week 14. The Browns have their bye during Week 13, making it a possibility that the team would wait to bring him back in early December and give him extra time to heal.
Hunt has a strained right calf and one would think it's not a mild strain considering the Browns placed the running back on IR. A mild calf strain takes only around three days to recover from while "severe" strains take up to 6 weeks, according to NolaSportsMedicine.
Browns odds
The Browns are 6-5 but are in last place in the crowded AFC North. A win over the Ravens this weekend would go a long way in improving Cleveland's playoff positioning. Cleveland now has odds to win the Super Bowl and are to make the playoffs.
Kareem Hunt props
The season long rushing over under for Hunt at DraftKings Sportsbook back in August was 650.5 yards. Hunt was well on his way to eclipsing that mark as he has 361 rushing yards in six games on the season.
That's an average of 60.1 yards rushing per game. If Hunt plays in five games the rest of the way and produces at that level he would wind up at 661 yards on the season. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that the RB goes Over his pre-season total despite the large chunk of time missed.
